Powerful attack on Kherson: One killed, several injured, Ice Arena destroyed (photos)
As a result of the attack on Kherson, five people were injured, and 18 apartment buildings and private homes were damaged.

On the morning of April 16, Russian forces attacked Kherson: they carried out an airstrike and shelled the Tavriyskyi neighborhood with artillery. One man was killed, several people were injured, and there was extensive destruction.
This was reported by the National Police of Ukraine.
At around 6:30 a.m., the Russian occupiers launched an airstrike on a sports complex in the Central District of Kherson. Four guided bombs hit the building of the ice arena. The facility was destroyed. A fire broke out at the site.
While emergency workers were extinguishing the fire at the scene of the attack, the enemy carried out an artillery strike. As a result, two service vehicles belonging to the State Emergency Service of Ukraine were damaged by shrapnel.
Police noted that the intense artillery shelling of the Tavriyskyi neighborhood lasted for almost half an hour. Eighteen apartment buildings and private houses were damaged, as well as two educational institutions, three supermarkets, a post office, and nine civilian vehicles.
“Unfortunately, there are civilian casualties. A 55-year-old man died from injuries. Three women aged 20, 56, and 70, and two men aged 61 and 70 sustained injuries of varying severity,” the statement from the law enforcement said.
