Putin’s Representative Rejected Zelenskyi's Idea of Public Peace Talks: "It's Hard to Imagine”
Putin's spokesman continues to insist that Russia's war goals will be achieved.
In his recent statement, Dmitry Peskov, the Spokesman of the Russian President, said that it would be impossible to hold public peace talks, the idea of which was put forward by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyi.
Peskov traditionally accused the Ukrainian authorities of first declaring their willingness for negotiations, and then allegedly refusing them.
"(Now - ed.) they say they want negotiations, but only public ones. That said, it's hard to imagine any public negotiations at all. There could be no public negotiations, especially in a matter like this," Peskov said.
"The one thing is clear - the Ukrainian side does not want to engage into any negotiations. Therefore, the “special military operation” will continue, and its goals will be achieved," the Russian dictator's spokesman stressed.
