Ukraine apologized to Estonia following the drone incident. Tykhyi says Russia continues to redirect Ukrainian drones toward the Baltics through electronic warfare interference.

“Russia continues redirecting Ukrainian drones toward the Baltics using its electronic warfare systems. Moscow is doing this deliberately, alongside an intensified propaganda campaign. We apologize to Estonia and all our Baltic friends for such unintended incidents,” Tykhyi said.

He also dismissed Russian claims that Ukraine is allegedly preparing attacks on Russia from Latvian territory.

“Russia’s lies are simply part of its broader propaganda campaign aimed at destabilizing public opinion in Latvia and across the Baltic states as a whole,” he added.

Tykhyi stressed that Ukraine is working closely with relevant agencies to determine the circumstances behind each such incident and prevent similar cases in the future.

The Foreign Ministry spokesman also reiterated that Ukraine is exercising its right to self-defense under Article 51 of the UN Charter and does not use the airspace of Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia or Finland to launch strikes against Russia.
