The Russian terrorist troops are currently stationed at the relatively small area between Kherson and Mykolaiv regions along the Stanislav – Oleksandrivka axis, according to Oleksandr Sienkevych, the Mayor of Mykolaiv.

According to the Mayor, in March, when the Russian troops approached the river of Southern Buh, the city was almost two-thirds surrounded, but the Ukrainian Armed Forces managed to drive the enemy away.

"Russia is deploying weapons and military resources from Crimea. We observe concentration of their forces in Kherson Region. Therefore, we expect another attempt to assault or besiege the city of Mykolaiv”, Sienkevych said.

Nevertheless, the Mayor of Mykolaiv reassures that the situation is controlled, and the Ukrainian Army has enough forces to hold the defense. Moreover, the outskirts and the downtown districts of Mykolaiv are being fortified and prepared for potential Russian offensive.

"Our utility services are currently acting as the construction battalions. We are building, digging, laying concrete, evacuating damaged Russian military vehicles from our fields. We have already retrieved at least 38 vehicles, including tanks, howitzers and personnel carriers. We salvage, repair and handover to the Armed Forces of Ukraine all Russian military hardware, unless previously taken as trophy and dismantled by our tricky farmers. To put it briefly, we are getting ready for full-scale offensive”, Oleksandr Sienkevych said.

Meanwhile, the invaders intensified artillery and mortar attacks on the local villages and position of the Armed Forces in Ukraine in Kherson and Mykolaiv Regions. Recently, Ukrainian forces repelled two Russian attacks near Kherson and destroyed multiple enemy military vehicles.
