Russia Has Deployed Its Air Forces Around Ukrainian Borders: How Many Jets and Helicopters Are on the Watch?

Russia uses all Belarusian airfields for the deployment of its military jets and helicopters. More and more Russian air forces are being deployed at the Ukrainian borders, as Yurii Ihnat, the Spokesman of the AFU Air Force Command said in his interview for Ukraine-Ukrinform Media Centre.

"Russia is allowed to use any Belarusian airfields it needs for deployment of its military hardware. We know that MiG-31K jets are now deployed at our borders. This is the reason why air raid alarms are now triggered so often. They also deploy there other types of fighter jets, such as Su-30s, Su-34s, Su-35s, and K-52 helicopters," Ihnat says.

According to him, Russia has deployed its air forces at the Ukrainian borders in annexed Crimes, and Belarus and in its own territory. The enemy is now has over 750 aircrafts deployed at 40 airfields dispersed throughout this vast territory.

Still, Ihnat urged not to overestimate the importance of Russian air forces in Belarus, as the redeployment of aircrafts is only a matter of hours.
