The Russian scientific and production center «NPC BASiRTK» presented its own interceptor drone, built to the typical layout for such systems: four motors and vertical take-off. The developer published video showing the drone flying horizontally and hovering, but did not disclose technical specifications.
This was reported by Militarnyi.
The developer’s official Telegram page also carried the announcement. The Russians plan to use the drone as part of a distributed system alongside other robotic complexes to monitor maritime situations and infrastructure.
Conceptual similarity to Ukraine’s Sting
It is worth noting that the Russian development is conceptually similar to the Ukrainian Sting interceptor. There is a high likelihood that the Russians borrowed individual design solutions from effective Ukrainian models.
The Ukrainian Sting itself has a conventional quadcopter layout with a large dome in which the warhead and camera are mounted.
Key features of the Ukrainian Sting:
Control. The device is piloted from the ground using VR goggles, providing the operator with precise visual observation.
Artificial intelligence (AI). The development is equipped with a target-guidance system using AI that helps the operator engage enemy targets effectively.
Effectiveness. Sting recently demonstrated its capabilities in Denmark. During a demonstration operation Ukrainian operators successfully destroyed several aerial drones, including a Danish Banshee drone that simulated an air threat.
