Russia is consistently resorting to large-scale terror against Ukraine’s civilian population to compel Ukrainians to accept capitulatory terms.
This was stated by journalist and political commentator Vitaliy Portnikov on his YouTube channel.
«Russia is conducting systematic terrorist activities to intimidate the Ukrainian population. This is the Kremlin’s logic — to force capitulation, to make Ukrainians agree to war-ending terms that mean the liquidation of Ukrainian statehood and the transfer of territories to Russia, ” Portnikov said.
According to him, the Kremlin is already preparing a corresponding «memorandum» to formalize Russian demands. He is convinced that for Russian president Vladimir Putin and his entourage, the cost of achieving this goal is irrelevant — even if it means mass casualties among both Ukrainians and Russians sent into battle.
«The residents of the territory they plan to annex are expendable. This is the philosophy of the Russian state — both the Soviet Union and present-day Russia, ” the commentator noted.
