Russian army tries to encircle major city: Details from Ukrainian Armed Forces

Russian troops are attempting to encircle Kostiantynivka in Donetsk region from three directions. Intense fighting is currently ongoing there.

Viktor Trehubov, Spokesman for the Khortytsia Operational-Strategic Grouping of Troops, said this on the air of the telethon.

According to him, the Russians have been trying to encircle Kostiantynivka from three directions for a long time.

“They previously attempted to advance toward it from either the Toretsk or Kramatorsk directions, or from Chasiv Yar — wherever they could break through first — but over the past year and a half, they have not achieved success in any of these areas. Now they are trying to advance from the Pokrovsk direction, specifically along the Pokrovsk–Kostiantynivka highway, to push further,” Trehubov emphasized.

The military official stressed that the largest enemy forces were concentrated on the Pokrovsk front.
