Russian forces destroy several Ukrainian positions: Military details Zaporizhzhia frontline situation

In the south, intense clashes continue after Russian troops destroyed several Ukrainian positions. Moscow’s forces are pushing toward Huliaipole in Zaporizhzhia region.

Southern Defense Forces spokesman Vladyslav Voloshyn said this during a national telethon broadcast.

He reported that fighting is intensifying in certain areas of the front line. In the Oleksandrivka sector, Russian invaders launched attacks on Ukrainian positions near the settlements of Yalta, Orestopil, Yehorivka, Pershotravneve, and Rybne.

In the Orikhiv sector attacks took place near Mala Tokmachka, Stepove, Shcherbaky, Mali Shcherbaky, Prymorske, Stepnohirsk, and Plavni.

“The enemy continues combat actions toward Huliaipole, attempting to dislodge our Defense Forces from their positions and inflicting heavy, combined fire on our lines. Yet they have made no progress. They destroyed several of our positions but failed to advance or deploy reinforcement units,” Voloshyn said.

According to the spokesman, after Ukrainian forces pulled back to more defensible positions near several settlements, operations to block the occupiers' advance and conduct search-and-strike actions are ongoing, as the enemy attempts to infiltrate.

“In other words, they are trying to covertly penetrate our defenses. Six such clashes have already been recorded,” the Southern Defense Forces representative added.
