Russian offensive creates new frontline direction: General Staff reports where Russians are particularly active

The situation in Sumy region is escalating due to Russia’s offensive.

A new frontline direction, named North-Slobozhansky, has emerged due to the intensified activity of Russian forces in the border areas of Sumy region.

This was reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

According to the statement, due to the enemy’s increased activity in the border regions of Sumy region and the importance of informing the public about the progress of repelling Russia’s armed aggression against Ukraine, the General Staff will include updates on combat operations in the North-Slobozhansky direction in its daily briefings starting from June 16, 2025.

“Additionally, the Kharkiv direction has been renamed the South-Slobozhansky direction,” the agency added.

They also noted that operational information regarding the Russian invasion is published on the official pages of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine three times a day — at 08:00, 16:00, and 22:00.
