Russia benefits from Israel-Iran war: National Security and Defense Council explains Kremlin’s motive
Putin actively cooperates with Tehran but eagerly awaits Israel’s destruction of Iran’s oil industry in the war.
Iran-Israel War
The National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) of Ukraine explained why a war in the Middle East benefits Russia. Specifically, the Russians are interested in Israel destroying Iran’s oil industry.
This was stated by Andriy Kovalenko, Head of the NSDC’s Center for Countering Disinformation.
The official emphasized that Russians, as usual, desire decline and destruction even for those they partner with.
“The Russians are most interested in seeing Iran’s oil industry destroyed by Israel in a war. That’s the kind of "partnership" Moscow has with Tehran,” the statement reads.
As known, Iran and Israel continue to exchange missile and drone strikes, with the situation escalating.
On June 15, an Israeli airstrike eliminated eight senior Iranian military officials simultaneously.
Today, June 16, approximately 30 missiles were launched from Iran, at least nine of which hit their targets. In Tel Aviv, a multi-story building was struck, injuring dozens of people.
Meanwhile, Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps claims it targeted the Israeli airbase “Nevatim” in the Negev.
Since the conflict began, 16 people have been killed in Iran’s attacks on Israel, including five Ukrainians.
