Russia’s summer offensive: «Khortytsia» spokesman reveals Russian plans

Russian occupying forces have intensified their assault operations in Eastern Ukraine, focusing their efforts on specific directions. One such area, according to Ukrainian military officials, is Kostiantynivka, which the enemy is attempting to capture from the eastern side.

Spokesman for the «Khortytsia» Operational-Strategic Grouping of Troops Viktor Trehubov, reported this during the national telethon «United News.»

Kostiantynivka under threat

Trehubov noted that there has been a significant escalation of combat activity in the eastern sector of the Pokrovsk direction. According to him, the enemy aims to break through to Kostiantynivka specifically from the east, using the Pokrovsk–Kostiantynivka highway.

«This attack on the eastern flank of the Pokrovsk direction is, in fact, one of Russia’s obvious plans for the summer campaign — one of the clear points of concentrated effort, ” the major emphasized.

Shift in the occupiers’ tactics

The «Khortytsia» spokesman also highlighted a change in enemy tactics compared to the winter campaign. Whereas previously the occupiers attempted to outflank Pokrovsk from the west, they are now focusing on a breakthrough between Pokrovsk and Kostiantynivka.

This indicates their clear intent for a so-called «summer offensive» and an effort to entrench themselves in new territories.

The Kostyantynivka front is strategically important for Ukraine’s Defense Forces, as control over it allows for the maintenance of positions and resistance against further enemy advances.
