Terrifying Missile Strike in Zaporizhzhia: Mangled and Destroyed Buildings, 17 People Killed
Around 2 a.m. on October 9th, the Russian troops carried out massive missile strike in Zaporizhzhia.
Multiple residential houses were damaged or destroyed in the attack. As of 6 a.m., the death toll has increased to 17 civilians, as Anatolii Kurtiev, the Secretary of Zaporizhzhia City Council, reports according to Suspilne.Zaporizhzhia.
"Multiple residential buildings were damaged and set on fire in the enemy attack. Details about human casualties will be provided later. Emergency services are working at the scene”.
A riser blocks of flats in one of the houses was totally ruined by missiles.
Other apartment blocks in private houses in a single-family residential neighborhood were also damaged by the explosions.
Based on preliminary data, 5 private houses were completely ruined, and 40 residential buildings suffered significant damages.
The first responders have already granted access to the attack site for utility workers to eliminate the consequences of strikes. Anatolii Kurtiev urged the city residents to join and help the utility workers. Where possible.
Zaporizhzhia Strikes
During the last week, the enemy consistently attacked Zaporizhzhia destroying residential housing, ruining infrastructure and killing civilian residents.
On October 8th, the death toll from recent missile strikes has increased to 19 civilians, whose bodies were discovered under the rubble.
On October 7th, the invasion army attacked the city with two Iranian kamikaze drones hitting a critical infrastructure facility. One of the drones landed in the apartment block yard. A residential house and its utility networks sustained damage. One person suffered shell-fragment injuries.
On October 6th, Zaporizhzhia was simultaneously hit by seven missile. Twelve people were killed in the strike. The Presidential Office responded to the massive missile attack against the southern city.
