Russian forces have advanced near the village of Topoli in Luhansk region. The enemy has essentially formed another small foothold on the right bank of the Oskil River.
This was reported by DeepState analysts.
"Attempts to cross the water barrier in this area have been ongoing for some time, starting around mid-January, with reconnaissance efforts taking place as early as the beginning of last month," the report states.
According to preliminary information, the enemy initially achieved some success in the village, but Defense Forces repelled them. Shortly afterward, Russian troops launched another assault at a different location. Following this second attack, they managed to ford the river and take positions on a hill south of Topoli.
"The Russians also attempted to establish a foothold between Kamianka and Topoli, but without success. They failed to secure their positions or build on their progress there, though this remains a warning sign for potential future attempts," analysts noted.
At present, stabilization measures are underway in the area.
DeepState expressed hope that this foothold "will not grow into a larger staging ground," as happened further south near Dvorichna and Novomlynsk.
