Zelenskyy responds to criticism of strikes on Russia, citing the U.S. as an example

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy responded to criticism of strikes on Russian territory, emphasizing that they target only military facilities. He noted that if the U.S. faced a similar threat, it would also strike enemy territory.
Zelenskyy made this statement in an interview with British journalist Piers Morgan.
The Ukrainian President responded to a question about American podcaster Joe Rogan’s condemnation of long-range strikes on Russia:
"When the war is far away, it's easy to speculate about it. But when you experience it firsthand, you find the right answers."
In this context, Zelenskyy recalled that on September 11, 2001, a terrorist attack in the U.S. claimed many lives. In response, the U.S. military struck the terrorists and "put them in their place."
"It was a justified goal for the U.S. to stop the terrorists. Otherwise, if you don’t stop them, they will come back again. That's the answer," the Head of State said.
He added that Ukraine’s Defense Forces struck Kursk region, where Russia had deployed 12,000 North Korean mercenaries to kill Ukrainians. As a result, 4,000 North Korean fighters were eliminated.
Zelenskyy stressed that to prevent such threats, Ukraine had requested long-range weapons, but its partners did not provide them in sufficient quantity.
The President expressed confidence that if the U.S. faced a threat from Iranian and North Korean forces, it would not wait idly to see what happens.
"Would the U.S. just stand by and wait? Would they say, "Let’s do nothing and see what happens"? No. The only ones talking about World War III are Putin, North Korea, Iran, and their followers. That’s why they must be stopped," Zelenskyy emphasized.
