The Russian military has increased their use of ammunition containing poisonous substances on the front line because they are unable to seize Ukrainian trenches.

Spokesman of the Operational-Strategic Grouping of Troops "Tavria", officer Dmytro Lykhoviy said this on the air of the telethon.

According to him, over the past week, the Russians have made almost fifty drops from drones, attaching grenades with poisonous substances like chloropicrin.

"Just yesterday alone, 15 such drops of ammunition were recorded, and almost all of them were in the defense zone in the Zaporizhzhia direction. When the enemy cannot capture our trenches with classic artillery or FPV drone strikes, they then resort to using such tear gas," he said.

He added that the enemy has increased the intensity of shelling and assault actions across the entire "Tavria" area of operations. The hottest spot right now is the Novopavlivka direction.

"There were 30 enemy attacks in that area within a day. 16 attacks were repelled yesterday in the Avdiivka direction. 8 enemy attacks were repelled in the Orikhiv direction, Zaporizhzhia region," Lykhoviy noted.
