The occupying forces continue to attack the outskirts of Chasiv Yar

The Russian military managed to gain a foothold in Bohdanivka, and now the village of Ivanivske remains the last outpost before Chasov Yar.

This was reported by an officer of the "Rubizh" National Guard Brigade, Volodymyr Cherniak, on the air of Apostrophe TV.

"Russian forces are making significant advances in this direction. Battles are already taking place directly on the outskirts of the city of Chasiv Yar, which were destroyed a year ago. There are no strong fortifications there. According to him, battles are taking place on the outskirts of Ivanivske. The military emphasizes that this settlement is under the control of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, however, it serves as the last outpost before Chasiv Yar.

"Plus, there is also a water canal in front of Chasiv Yar, which the Russians have not yet managed to cross. The Russians are trying to squeeze through to the north of Ivanivske. Despite the fact that there is a lowland there, the Russians enter there. Why? Because our servicemen are heavily engaged in direct clashes with the Russians and constant airstrikes by Russian aviation. And this allows the enemy to slowly but steadily advance towards the city," he explained.

In turn, Spokesman for the "Khortytsia" grouping of troops, Lieutenant Colonel Nazar Voloshyn, assesses the situation in the Chasiv Yar area as difficult but under control.

"Chasiv Yar holds firm. The situation is under control, there are no enemy forces in the city. Assault groups arrive on infantry fighting vehicles and attack with the support of drones and artillery... The Russian army uses ammunition of North Korean and Chinese origin for shelling Chasiv Yar and the Bakhmut direction," Voloshyn reported on the telethon on April 21.

He adds that recently, the defenders of the city have been heavily troubled by enemy aviation, which bombards the positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine with both guided aerial bombs and FABs.
