"The Russians have no less problems than we do": Dykyi assessed whether the Armed Forces should switch to defense

The ATO (Anti-Terrorist Operation) veteran emphasized that the occupiers now have the same problems with a lack of fighters and weapons as in Ukraine, and it would be a mistake to give the enemy a pause at the front.

"If the United States renews assistance to Ukraine at 2023 levels, then “another year will be saved for us.” In this scenario, the Armed Forces of Ukraine should not switch to defense in any case.

Military expert, ATO veteran, ex-company commander of the "Aidar" Battalion Yevhen Dykyi told about this in an interview with Radio NV.

Dykiy commented on media reports that US National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan was supposed to call on Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy to change his strategy and go on the defensive.

The expert emphasized that if the aid to Ukraine is renewed and from March will come at the same level as in 2023, then "another year will be saved for us." In this case, Sullivan's advice is harmful, and Ukrainian troops should not go on the defensive.

What is the state of the Russian army now?

"At the end of the year, we finally began to honestly say that we have many problems, that we lack both personnel and weapons. We should not draw the false conclusion from this that our enemies are ok in this case. Moreover, the problems are the same: both in terms of personnel and in terms of weapons. Their army is actually very exhausted by the battles of 2023. Note that the "second army of the world" is very proud that they stopped our advance, as a result of 2023. Can you imagine two years ago such a situation?!" - Dykyi remarked.

He emphasized that, in fact, Russian troops are not sure whether they will survive a second such year.
