Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha said Russia’s latest large-scale attack on Ukraine proves Putin is not seeking peace, and only direct pressure on Moscow can stop him.

Sybiha commented on the massive Russian strike and said the attack, launched as leaders of the world’s most powerful countries gathered in Beijing, demonstrated the global threat posed by the Russian regime.
According to the foreign minister, Russia launched hundreds of drones, ballistic missiles and cruise missiles at Ukraine precisely when the world was hoping for peace, stability and cooperation.
«Precisely while the leaders of the world’s most powerful nations meet in Beijing, and the world hopes for peace, predictability, and cooperation, Putin launched hundreds of drones, ballistic, and cruise missiles at the Ukrainian capital,» Sybiha said.
The minister stressed that this attack serves as further evidence that Moscow chooses aggression and terror over peace and development.
«This barbaric attack during such a pivotal summit demonstrates that the Russian regime poses a global threat to international security. Instead of peace and development, Moscow chooses aggression and terror,» he noted.
Sybiha said entire residential neighborhoods in Kyiv had been destroyed in the strikes, with civilians killed and injured. Other Ukrainian cities and communities also came under attack.
The foreign minister said that Putin is interested in prolonging the war as it helps him maintain control and power within Russia.
«There should be no illusions or vain hopes: only pressure on Moscow can force him to stop,» he stressed.
Sybiha also drew attention to the roles of the United States and China. In his view, these two nations possess enough leverage over the Kremlin to force Putin to end the war.
«I am convinced that the leaders of the United States and China have sufficient leverage over Moscow to tell Putin to finally end the war. This would be the single most positive development possible,» the foreign minister declared.
