Ukrainian Armed Forces withdraw from several villages near Gulyaypol: everything has been razed to the ground

Russian troops are carrying out heavy assaults on the Huliaipole axis, trying to encircle the city from the east and north.

The spokesman of the Southern Defense Forces, Vladyslav Voloshyn, reported this on Kyiv 24 on 27 November.

He said that 22 combat engagements were recorded in this part of the front just over the past day.

«The enemy is continuing active assaults, ” Voloshyn said.

He stressed that the situation remains extremely difficult because of the ongoing heavy attacks by Russian troops.

«The situation in the Huliaipole sector is currently quite tough… The enemy does not stop conducting active assaults there. Every day, there are at least twenty such assault actions, ” he said.

He said that the Russians are trying to break through the defense using massive firepower.

«The enemy has been actively carrying out operations for several weeks. He has effectively destroyed all fortifications and shelters at specific positions, ” the spokesman added.

Ukrainian troops pulled back from several settlements

At present, Ukrainian units were forced to withdraw from several settlements near Huliaipole. The decision was taken because the infrastructure was completely destroyed, making it impossible to hold the positions.

«Why is the situation like this? The enemy has indeed been conducting operations quite actively for several weeks. In particular, it is applying massive firepower to our positions, destroying practically all fortifications and shelters at various locations, ” Voloshyn said.

According to the military officer, in some villages everything has been destroyed, leaving only the names on the map.

He stressed that despite the heavy attacks, Russian forces are not making rapid progress.

«I would not say that they are moving very fast. In some settlements, the enemy cannot set up reinforcement groups or maintain their positions, ” the spokesman said.

Ukrainian troops continue to hold the line and strike the enemy, preventing it from fully securing the areas it has captured.
