Ukraine needs non-nuclear deterrence, and that is why it asked the US for Tomahawk missiles.
This opinion was expressed by Serhiy Kuzan, military expert and Head of the Ukrainian Center for Security and Cooperation, "Kyiv 24" reports.
"These are deterrent weapons, non-nuclear ones. We’re not saying they (Tomahawks) would carry a nuclear payload. But it's absolutely understandable that we should have comparable capabilities, like "Kalibr" missiles. If we have these missiles with the Typhon ground launch system, it’s clear that with such an arsenal, the Russians will think twice before launching another massive missile strike," the expert says.
Kuzan believes that having long-range strike capabilities in Ukraine would change the balance of power.
