Some political figures in the U.S. are currently, unfortunately, under the influence of Russian narratives, including Donald Trump’s special envoy, Steve Witkoff.

This was stated by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in an exclusive interview with Eurovision News.

"Witkoff indeed very often quotes Kremlin narratives. I believe this will not bring us closer to peace. On the contrary, it will, unfortunately, only weaken the Americans’ pressure on Russia. We can only counter this information field with our actions. We are trying to do so. I have spoken with President Trump multiple times. And we are trying, at the intelligence level, to exchange real, truthful information. Because Witkoff’s statements are greatly hindering us. We are fighting Putin and don’t want him to have many helpers. It’s already difficult for us as it is, because we are fighting a country 40 times larger than Ukraine. We want the Americans to be on our side," Zelenskyy said.

Speaking about Witkoff, the President also added that "he is not a military man; he’s good at selling real estate."

Zelenskyy assures that Ukraine will not agree with Russian narratives, no matter where they come from.

"I cannot be ungrateful to America for everything they have done. But today, they are very often under the influence of Russian narratives. And we cannot agree with these narratives. We are fighting for ourselves and will fight against these narratives, wherever they may be. We simply have no other choice. We are fighting for our independence and our existence," the Head of State noted.
