Zelenskyy stated that Russia is not going to end the war, and named Putin's goals
Putin's first targets will be the former Soviet republics.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy
Russian President-dictator Volodymyr Putin has no intention of stopping the war he initiated in Ukraine. Furthermore, he does not intend to stop at just our country.
This was stated by the Head of State in an interview with Digi24.ro.
"I'll be very honest. He doesn't want to end anything, he's not interested, and it will never be. Handshakes mean nothing. If you want to stop the war, you do everything you can to stop it, you talk to all the people who are willing to negotiate. But he doesn't want that. In his mind, he wants to move forward, and not only in Ukraine. It's a problem," Zelenskyy expressed.
He emphasizes that there is no one "who is interested in returning to the relations that existed before with Russia." Moreover, the Ukrainian leader notes, the Kremlin dictator "wants to move forward - and not only in Ukraine." He believes that Putin's first target will be the former Soviet republics, primarily the Baltic states, which are now NATO members, and Moldova.
Zelenskyy states that the Kremlin is interested in the globalization of conflicts. Instead, pressure should be exerted on Moscow, presenting a "humane ultimatum that will force it to negotiate."
"For some, war is a tragedy, while for others, it opens up opportunities. They want long-term destabilization of the world," he said.
