The aftermath of the attack on Kharkiv

Shattered roofs and walls shredded by shrapnel are the aftermath of just one "Shahed" drone strike in Kharkiv. Yet nearly a dozen of these drones fly over the city almost every day. Russian forces targeted civilian infrastructure exclusively. Since early morning, city services have been working to eliminate the consequences of the attack. While utility crews repair damaged infrastructure, other teams assist residents whose homes were damaged in the strike.

This was reported by TSN correspondent Yuliia Boiko.

Night terror in the Nemyshlianskyi district

Overnight, Russian drones approached Kharkiv in several waves. The private residential sector of the Nemyshlianskyi district suffered the most. There, an enemy drone exploded directly on a road between residential houses. Witnesses say the blast was so powerful that buildings literally shook.

Oleksandr, a witness:

"First there was a buzzing sound, then shooting started, silence, and a flash. That's all I saw. The house was swaying back and forth. We immediately started calling our godchildren because we realized it happened near them."

Vitalii, the owner of one of the damaged houses, was at work during the attack. He learned his home had been destroyed from a frightened call from his wife.

Injured civilians and damaged gas line

A 66-year-old man sustained shrapnel injuries during the overnight attack, while an elderly woman suffered an acute stress reaction. Along with residential buildings, critical utilities were also hit: the explosion ruptured a gas pipeline and damaged electric transport contact lines.

Ihor Terekhov, Kharkiv mayor:

"Ten private houses were damaged, the contact network was hit. A gas pipeline was also destroyed. Our municipal services are now working to restore everything damaged by the Russian aggressor."

Morning strikes hit Saltivka and city center

Just as residents began recovering from the overnight attack, the city came under fire again in the morning. The Saltivskyi district was hit first, where a drone struck a gardening cooperative, sparking a fire.

A few hours later, another "Shahed" drone reached the city center. It struck a two-story office building, triggering a large fire. Thick black smoke covered the entire block. Emergency crews are working at the scene to extinguish the fire and clear debris.

Residents of Kharkiv are once again showing resilience: while utility crews repair pipes and power lines, people are clearing broken glass themselves, preparing for another difficult night.
