Strike on Odesa: «Shaheds» fell directly on houses — What locals say

As a result of the nighttime attack on Odesa, five people were injured. The Russians struck a food storage warehouse with drones. One of the Shahed drones crashed into the garden of a private house, destroying all nearby structures. Windows were blown out in a neighboring multi-story building.

The Russians attacked Odesa around 3 a.m. The main strike hit a warehouse, where a fire broke out over an area of 1,000 square meters. Rescuers had to deploy a large number of specialized vehicles to deliver water. When they gained access inside, they saw that the enemy had destroyed a significant amount of food products.
«Fires broke out at various locations. The most extensive was at warehouse facilities storing food products, including ice cream and frozen goods. Fortunately, the workers were in a shelter during the air raid alert, ” the State Emergency Service reported.
In total, nearly a dozen and a half drones targeted Odesa overnight. Nine of them were shot down by naval forces directly over the sea. Several more Shahed drones were taken down by mobile fire groups and air defense units over the city. One Shahed crashed into the garden of a private house near a multi-story building. The residents were asleep and narrowly escaped.
«My husband and I were sleeping. At around 2:30 a.m., we woke up to the sound of explosions. But when the chandelier started falling on us, my husband shouted to get to the basement! All the rooms are destroyed. Everything on that side is completely ruined. Services came and said it’s beyond repair, ” said victim Hanna Pustovoytenko.
«They were flying right over the house, and 15 minutes before the air raid alert ended, a Shahed crashed. My wife and I jumped out because the ceiling could have collapsed on us in the house. The whole garden was on fire, and the gas pipe was torn off. I called the gas service at night, and they came quickly and shut it off, ” added her husband, Serhiy Pustovoytenko.
At several other locations, debris from downed drones caused parked cars to catch fire. Five people were injured. One of the injured was taken to the hospital by ambulance in a moderate condition. The others received medical assistance on the spot.
