Despite a decrease in combat intensity, the situation on this front remains tense. Russian forces continue tactical probe attacks along the entire contact line, although no large-scale offensive force has been formed yet.
Colonel Pavlo Rozlach, call sign «Vedmid», Hero of Ukraine and Deputy Commander of the 8th Air Assault Corps, shared these details in an exclusive interview with TSN special correspondent Yuliia Kyriienko.
According to the him, units of the «Kursk» task force inflicted significant losses on the enemy in March alone.
«In March, the „Kursk“ task force eliminated 1,528 occupiers. This accounts for 4.3% of the record 35,000 total enemy losses,» said Pavlo Rozlach.
The colonel explained that the bulk of the Russian offensive group was redeployed to other sectors where combat is more intense.
«Most of the offensive force the enemy had there moved to the Pokrovsk and Zaporizhzhia directions. That is why there are more assault operations and higher combat intensity there compared to Sumy,» he explained.
At the same time, the officer warned against assuming a total calm in the Sumy region, as the enemy continues to test Ukrainian defenses.
«But some intensity remains in the Sumy region. They are keeping us on our toes, probing along the entire contact line; there just isn’t a large, powerful strike force formed for a major operation yet. But at the tactical level, attempts continue across the entire front,» Pavlo Rozlach concluded.
