Russian troops increasingly strike Ukrainian cities in morning hours. Such tactics aim to exhaust air defense systems and cause maximum disruption to urban life, military analyst Oleh Zhdanov told TSN.ua.

Zhdanov believes morning attacks are part of a new enemy strategy. He says Russian forces first conduct reconnaissance and then rapidly alter the flight paths of strike drones.

«I think they are simply continuing into the morning. Based on maps published by Ukrainian media, most of the drones appear to be heading towards Kyiv, ” Oleh Zhdanov said.

He added that one of the main aims of the strikes is to extend attacks over time.

«Why don’t they wait for night? The aim is likely to stretch the attack. This is not the first time they have launched daytime strikes to prolong the assault, ” Oleh Zhdanov said.

He added that such attacks could effectively paralyze cities, as air raid alerts force people to leave workplaces and move to shelters.

«If an air battle begins over Kyiv, the city will come to a halt. People will go to shelters, businesses will stop, institutions and shops will close. The city is paralyzed, ” Zhdanov explains.
