Ukraine's Defence Intelligence Chief Kyrylo Budanov commented on Russian president Vladimir Putin’s reported attempt to reach a peace deal with the U.S. without involving Kyiv or Europe.

He made the remarks in an interview with the journalist of We—Ukraine TV channel.

Budanov stressed that no agreement concerning this war can be made without Ukraine’s participation.

“A deal without Ukraine is impossible — this is our war with them. An agreement can be made without anyone else, but without Ukraine — it’s unreal, simply unreal. There’s no subject and no main players. Just look at the result: did it work? No. Why? Because it’s impossible,” the intelligence chief said.
