Russia is trying to buy time by talking about negotiations.

Political analyst Petro Oleshchuk believes that any peace talks with Russia should only begin after a ceasefire and with the participation of international partners who can act as security guarantors.

He stated this during a broadcast on the KYIV24 TV channel.

In his view, negotiations with an aggressor state «one-on-one» will yield no results:

«Russia can sign any agreements and then refuse to comply, citing a „wrong government“ or a „wrong flag.“

«The peace settlement process must involve guarantor countries that take legal responsibility for enforcing agreements. This is not about material support, but about security commitments, ” Oleshchuk emphasized.

The political analyst also drew attention to the Kremlin’s manipulative tactics.

In his opinion, statements from Russian leadership about possible talks are part of an information strategy: «As long as negotiation topics are being floated, Russia continues to prepare for new aggressive actions».
