Lavrov cynically claims Ukraine was first to strike energy infrastructure

The foreign minister of the aggressor state, Russia, cynically accused Ukraine, claiming it was the Ukrainian side that allegedly carried out the first strikes on energy infrastructure.

The statement by Lavrov was reported by Russian propaganda media.

«We never started first. It was the Ukrainians who first struck energy and other civilian facilities, including residential buildings, shops and hospitals, ” the Russian minister falsely claimed.

He accused Ukraine of violating a previous 2025 energy ceasefire, although in fact Russia had no plans to implement it.

«Russia’s patience is not unlimited — it weighed its actions carefully before acting, ” Lavrov said.

He added that Russia supposedly has a «clear conscience» over the war because it had allegedly recognized Ukraine as a neutral, non-nuclear state.
