Ukraine is awaiting a response from the U.S. side regarding a delegation’s visit to Kyiv to continue negotiations on a peace settlement of the war. The delay is linked to the fact that the Donald Trump administration’s attention is currently focused on developments in the Middle East.
This was stated by Ukraine’s Deputy Ambassador to the U.S., Denys Senyk, in comments to journalists, as reported by Novyny.LIVE.
“We hope the situation in the Middle East will be resolved soon and that attention can return to Ukraine,” he said.
According to the Ukrainian diplomat, the country’s priorities remain unchanged: the war must end with a just peace and in a way that ensures it never happens again. To achieve this, he stressed, strong security guarantees are essential.
“All our priorities are well known to the American side. We know what the Russians think. We are ready to hold talks," he added.
Denys Senyk also noted that the Ukrainian president’s team is ready for a trilateral meeting at the level of national leaders.
