Political analyst names possible ceasefire timeline
The truce, if it happens, may be short-lived, the expert believes.

At present, the chances of a ceasefire between Ukraine and Russia are very low. That said, a temporary halt in fighting in May is not entirely out of the question — although still highly unlikely.
This was stated by political analyst Ihor Reiterovych during a broadcast on “KYIV24.”
The expert emphasizes that the probability of a ceasefire between Ukraine and Russia is about the same as meeting a dinosaur on the street — "50/50." According to Reiterovych, a ceasefire is theoretically possible, but it would require many factors to align. The main ones include the stance of the aggressor state, Russia, and the position of U.S. President Donald Trump.
“If Trump decides to make concessions to Russia, it could happen at Ukraine’s expense, and then Russia will put forward unacceptable conditions for us,” the expert stressed.
He believes that even if a ceasefire were to occur, it would likely be short — lasting only a few days or a week. However, there is a high likelihood that Russia would violate it. This, in turn, would allow Moscow to blame Ukraine and resume hostilities.
