«Spit in world’s face»: Sybiha blasts Putin’s new threats

The Russian dictator has for two consecutive days demonstrated unwillingness to end the war and threatened to continue combat operations in winter as well as attacks on maritime infrastructure.

Kremlin dictator Vladimir Putin keeps cranking up the escalation, despite active talks about possible negotiations. Ukraine’s Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha pointed out that Putin’s rhetoric over the past few days proves he has zero real intention of stopping the bloodshed.

The diplomat posted this on X.

Strikes on ports and the Trump factor

Sybiha stressed that for the second day in a row the Russian dictator is issuing statements that scream intent to prolong the war. Yesterday Putin vowed readiness to fight all winter long, and today he escalated to direct threats against seaports and freedom of navigation.

The minister stressed that these threats are directed primarily against Odesa. At the same time, he recalled the position of the newly elected U.S. President regarding this Ukrainian city.

«These threats are directed primarily at Odesa, about which President Trump spoke with great warmth, ” the foreign minister noted.

Time to force Moscow into peace

Sybiha made it clear: Russia has to stop wasting the world’s time — time that should be spent securing peace. If Putin once again ignores calls for de-escalation, the global response needs to hit hard.

«If that doesn’t happen and Putin just spits in the world’s face one more time, there have to be consequences, ” the minister warned.

He further added that the Ukrainian and US teams, alongside their European partners, have made significant headway in diplomatic efforts. Now, in the minister’s view, the moment is right to «force the source of the war in Moscow to cease hostilities.»
