Ukrainian strikes on Russian oil terminals in Primorsk and Novorossiysk carry political significance, strengthening Ukraine’s position in negotiations with Russia.

This was stated by Head of the Office of the President, Kyrylo Budanov, during a visit to the Zakarpattia region, as reported by Suspilne.

Budanov refrained from predicting whether Russia’s stance would shift immediately following these attacks.

"We’ll see. In the next negotiations with them [the Russian delegation], I think we will hear a lot of new things," he suggested.

He further noted that these strikes, in any case, significantly strengthen Ukraine's position at the future negotiating table.

"We must do everything to ensure our position is reinforced. Any means used to achieve this goal are justified and correct," the head of the Office of the President said, vowing that the bombardment of the aggressor state’s oil infrastructure will continue in line with Ukraine’s national interest.
