Talks with Russia: Zelenskyy proposes involving another party
Zelenskyy advocated for Ukraine to be a participant in negotiations with Russia and added that Europe’s opinion should also be taken into account.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy believes that Europe should be involved in the negotiation process with Russia.
He expressed this opinion in his evening video address on August 7.
According to Zelenskyy, all partners understand who must take steps to end this war.
«This is Russia’s war, this is Russia’s aggression, and it is Russia that must agree to a ceasefire and to real diplomacy that can guarantee peace, ” he said.
Zelenskyy also said that Russia’s war against Ukraine «is a war in Europe and against Europe.» Therefore, all decisions that will be made to end the war and to guarantee security «truly concern all of Europe, not just someone in particular.»
«Therefore, Europe’s voice must influence the processes. And we are agreeing with our European leaders both on our talks and our meetings to coordinate all positions, and also on each of us working with other leaders to ensure that Europe’s positions are protected, ” Zelenskyy said.
The President also advocated for Ukraine to be a participant in negotiations with Russia.
«Russia’s war against Ukraine is a war against our independence as an embodiment of the independence of every European nation. Therefore, the format of meetings, meetings of leaders, is, in particular, a trilateral format. And we discussed this in detail yesterday — several bilateral formats, and the trilateral format, ” he said.
