Ukraine is advocating for face-to-face talks between President Zelenskyy and the Russian dictator to give diplomatic efforts new life. Kyiv has already approached Turkey and several other partners to help organize the negotiations.

Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha announced this during a press briefing.

According to Sybiha, Ukraine made a direct request to the Turkish side to facilitate the meeting. However, Kyiv is open to other locations if partners suggest them.

«We are calling for a meeting to get some diplomatic momentum going—between President Zelenskyy and Putin. We’ve asked the Turks; we’ve asked other capitals. We made a specific appeal to Ankara. But if any other capital—aside from Moscow or Belarus—organizes it, we will be there. This is important for us,» Sybiha said.

Kyiv is making it clear they are ready for direct negotiations on neutral ground, provided it leads to a real diplomatic breakthrough.
