Andriy Yermak, Head of the Ukrainian Presidential Office, held discussions with U.S. President’s Special Representative Steve Witkoff to address the implementation of all agreements reached at the Washington Summit.
He reported this on the social media platform X following the conclusion of the talks.
“At the start of the meeting, I briefed Steve Witkoff on the war crimes Russia commits daily against our cities and communities in Ukraine. In particular, I detailed the massive missile and drone attack on Kyiv, which killed 23 people, including four children,” Yermak stated.
The Head of the Presidential Office stressed that Russia is making no efforts to take the necessary steps to end the war and is blatantly dragging out military actions.
“Ukraine supports President Trump’s firm resolve, as well as that of all our partners, to achieve a lasting peace as soon as possible. Ukraine welcomes all peace initiatives put forward by the United States. Unfortunately, each one is being stalled by Russia,” he reported.
Andriy Yermak affirmed that Ukraine remains open to direct negotiations at the leadership level and is ready to discuss the broadest range of issues.
“We believe global pressure is essential to ensure Russia is genuinely prepared to move toward peace, including by holding critically important leaders’ meetings for this purpose,” Yermak hinted, signaling the need for sanctions against the aggressor state.
Yermak also noted that he invited Steve Witkoff to visit Ukraine in the near future.
Another participant in the talks from Ukraine was Serhiy Kyslytsia, First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine.
