Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy considers the presence of international troops in the country to be a necessary condition for any security guarantees.

He made the remarks in response to questions from journalists.

Zelenskyy answered affirmatively when asked whether he considers the presence of international troops in Ukraine to be a necessary condition for any security guarantees.

“Honestly, yes. I believe the presence of international troops constitutes real security guarantees. It strengthens the security guarantees our partners are already offering us. It provides confidence primarily to Ukrainian citizens — civilians and, incidentally, the military — as well as confidence to Ukrainian businesses and international investors that Putin will not return with aggression against Ukraine, against a peaceful Ukraine,” the president said.
