One shield: Zelenskyy proposes Europeans build a joint defense against Russian drones
Zelenskyy believes that the construction of a joint European air defense shield should be approached as quickly as possible.

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy proposed that Europeans build a joint defense against Russian drones. This is already becoming an element of European Union policy.
Zelenskyy said this at a joint briefing with the President of Finland.
According to the Head of State, air defense is an unchanging priority. This concerns both strengthening Ukraine’s air defense and building Europe’s eastern air defense shield. In fact, this is becoming an element of European Union policy.
“And it is important to implement this in a modern way — so that a drone defense line for Europe works, along with all aviation capabilities, all air defense systems, all elements of this truly complex system,” the Ukrainian leader added.
He assured that Ukraine is ready to share its experience and expand production.
“Ukraine proposes to all European neighboring countries — our neighbors and Russia’s neighbors, of course — a joint program of financing, production, and development of interceptor drones. Ukraine, in my opinion, through the war, thanks to our production during the war, is undoubtedly a leader in this field, an absolutely new technological field,” the President said.
In Zelenskyy’s view, this must be approached as quickly as possible so that bureaucratic processes do not interfere.
“We are open to this work, this cooperation. Our European friends, and no one in the world, simply have enough missiles to shoot down all types, all different types of drones. A missile that costs a million, no matter what it is, simply cannot shoot down drones that cost tens of thousands of dollars. Even if it is a hundred thousand dollars — it is simply impossible,” Zelenskyy concluded.
