Russia is actively preparing for a possible second front, increasingly violating NATO airspace. According to a military expert, resources are already being allocated for this plan — including foreign units.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has warned that Russia may expand the war into Europe without ending its military operations in Ukraine, and military analyst Ivan Tymochko confirms that the Kremlin is actively mobilizing resources and simulating scenarios for a new escalation, potentially involving North Korean soldiers.

Tymochko shared these insights during a broadcast on 24 Kanal.

He explained that Russia’s military decisions indicate a readiness to act beyond Ukraine’s borders.

During the “Zapad 2025” military exercises, Russia rehearsed scenarios not only on Belarusian territory but also across maritime and aerial domains. The expert pointed to the occupiers’ ongoing provocations.

“We have repeatedly observed violations of airspace and Russian forces approaching the territorial waters of European countries,” the military analyst says.

This is further reinforced by new Russian legislation enabling continuous mobilization and the conscription of reservists.

A separate and deeply alarming aspect of this preparation is the involvement of North Korean troops. According to Tymochko, Moscow views them as quasi-forces capable of strengthening its aggression against any European state.

“Russia has trained and prepared North Korean soldiers who could be deployed as quasi-forces against any European Union country,” the expert emphasizes.

Such units enable Moscow to act more aggressively, opening additional vectors of pressure without immediately committing its own troops.

Is Russia ready for a second front?

Ivan Tymochko is convinced that preparations for broader military operations are already underway.

“Yes, it looks like they are preparing to open a second front. At the level of Russian command, including the General Staff, such documents have already been drafted and refined. These plans have been modeled, and resources are now being allocated to support them,” the military analyst says.

He adds that Putin is relying not only on military force but also on psychological pressure, hoping that “a barbaric and aggressive approach will break the morale of the European population.”

However, the expert reminds that the behavior of societies in moments of real threat is impossible to predict — and Ukraine’s experience proves it.
