The Russian army may be able to fire up to a thousand drones per night against Ukraine — including Shaheds and Gerberas — by the end of 2025.
This forecast was given by civic activist and volunteer Serhiy Sternenko in an interview with TSN journalist Nataliia Nahorna.
“Launching a thousand Shaheds across the territory of Ukraine together with Gerberas — launching a thousand UAVs against Ukraine in one night — this is a completely realistic scenario, at least by the end of this year. But I believe it will happen even earlier,” Sternenko said.
He also outlined ways to counter such massive attacks:
“To intercept a large number of Russian drones without exhausting all our surface-to-air missiles — which we also need to counter the enemy’s cruise missiles — we must build up a drone-based air defence, specifically interceptor drones. That process is already underway, albeit not without problems.”
