Despite the absence of strike groups on the border, Belarus remains a tool for Russia in the war.

Ukraine’s State Border Guard Service sees no signs of an impending offensive or shelling from Belarus, but confirms that the country’s territory is being used to boost signals for Russian Shahed drones.

Andriy Demchenko, spokesman for the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine (SBGS), shared this information, as reported by Novyny.Live.

How Belarus helps Russia attack Ukraine

According to Demchenko, Belarus remains one of the avenues of support for the Russian Federation. Specifically, this involves installing and deploying signal repeaters and other communications equipment on Belarusian territory to boost the signal for Russian aerial assets.

«Regarding Russia’s use of Shaheds and Gerberas, we unfortunately see that one of the vectors through which Belarus supports Russia, is installing and placing repeaters and other communication tools on its territory. This equipment amplifies the signal for these Russian aerial assets, allowing them to navigate deep into our country’s territory with maximum ease. And this is one of the demands the president of Ukraine made to Belarus—that these systems be dismantled,» the SBGS spokesman said.

Threat of invasion from Belarus—current situation

He sressed that the situation on the Belarusian border differs significantly from the border sector with Russia.

«We do not record any shelling along this section of the border originating from Belarusian territory. Nor do we see any buildup of a strike group ready to destabilize the situation near our border checkpoints or attempt an invasion,» Demchenko stressed.

At the same time, according to intelligence data, Russia continues to pressure Belarus, demanding its large-scale involvement in the war against Ukraine.

The SBGS spokesman said that the task of Ukrainian intelligence is to continuously monitor the situation inside Belarus in order to respond to any security changes in a timely manner.

«Our primary task is to maintain strong defensive positions, work on engineering reinforcements directly along the border line, build fortifications, and expand mine-explosive barriers facing Belarus right along the border,» Demchenko said.

According to him, all these measures are being carried out continuously. Units of the State Border Guard Service, other branches of Ukraine’s Defense Forces and local authorities are all involved in strengthening the country’s defensive capabilities along the Belarusian direction.
