Russia has officially declared that it will no longer adhere to a moratorium on the deployment of ground-based intermediate- and shorter-range missiles.
The announcement was made by the press service of the foreign ministry of the aggressor state.
The statement says that Russia no longer considers itself bound by the moratorium, claiming that «Russian initiatives were not met with reciprocity.»
«The U.S. and its allies have not only openly outlined plans to deploy American ground-based INF (intermediate- and shorter-range missiles) in various regions, but have already made significant progress in practically implementing these intentions, ” the statement cynically complains.
The Russian foreign ministry adds that the decision on missile deployment will be made «based on interagency analysis of the scale of deployment of U.S. and other Western ground-based intermediate-range and shorter-range missiles, as well as the overall development of the international security and strategic stability situation.»
