On the morning of August 4, Russian propaganda claimed that the Russian army had captured the Hoptivka checkpoint. This information is false.
Head of the Derhachi City Military Administration Vyacheslav Zdorenko reported this.
As the news began to gain public attention, the authorities issued a statement.
“The occupiers did indeed launch an assault on this checkpoint. As a result, soldiers from the 58th Separate Motorized Infantry Brigade eliminated more than ten invaders, and dozens of others fled back to Russia,” he said.
The official emphasizes that the Hoptivka checkpoint remains fully under the control of Ukraine’s Defense Forces.
