Following the news of the detention of a former Ukrainian diplomat in Budapest, Ukraine's Ministry of Foreign Affairs advised Hungarian authorities to end their "anti-Ukrainian hysteria."
A corresponding post was published by the MFA spokesman, Heorhii Tykhyi, on the social media platform X.
"Regarding the detention of a Ukrainian citizen in central Budapest: when evidence runs out, a witch hunt begins. It is high time for Hungarian authorities to put an end to this senseless anti-Ukrainian hysteria," Tykhyi wrote.
