Andrii Matiukha Foundation supported a project on first aid training for Ukrainian energy workers
Everyone received certificates confirming their readiness to act in case of danger.
In Kyiv and the region, the program "Protection of Ukrenergo repair workers" by FAST: First Aid and Special Training was launched. The first to complete it were 34 energy workers. During the day, they learned life-saving actions in critical situations.
The participants of the training practiced applying tourniquets, stopping severe bleeding, and wound packing. Special attention was given to cardiopulmonary resuscitation and checking the state of consciousness. At the end, all of them received certificates confirming their readiness to act in case of danger.
The initiative was implemented with the support of the Andrii Matiukha Foundation. There are plans to conduct 75 similar sessions for repair crews and technical personnel of NEC Ukrenergo. By the end of the program, about 1,500 energy workers in are expected to receive this knowledge.
A new direction in the work of the Andrii Matiukha Foundation
The need for training is dictated by circumstances. Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, more than 30 massive strikes on the energy infrastructure have been recorded. Over 63,000 facilities have been damaged. At least 160 workers have been killed, 13 of them losing their lives directly at the workplace. More than 300 others have suffered serious injuries.
"Energy workers do their job under constant risk. They are the first to go out for restoration after attacks. Our course helps them be ready to save their colleagues’ lives at the most critical moment," emphasized Andrii Matiukha.
The Andrii Matiukha Foundation is also implementing other projects in parallel. In 2025, in cooperation with Good Donations, it provided modern equipment for "Okhmatdyt" and supported the installation of the art project "Origami for Ukraine." It is aimed at raising funds for the rehabilitation of soldiers.
