Ukraine is counting on continued support from the United States in supplying air defense systems, particularly Patriot systems.
This was stated by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
He outlined foreign policy priorities for the second half of September and October. According to the President, the key tasks remain the implementation of agreements from Ramstein, deals in Washington and Paris, as well as the full execution of contracts for the procurement of air defense systems, missiles, and drones.
«Before winter, we must fulfill every agreement on the supply of air defense systems, missiles for them, and procurement contracts to one hundred percent. There is still work to be done,» Zelenskyy emphasized.
The President noted that Ukraine already has over $2 billion in the PURL program for the purchase of American weapons, with another $1.5 billion expected in the near future.
«We have proposed to America to purchase the necessary number of Patriot systems. This is very important,» he stressed.
The Head of State paid particular attention to the development of joint weapons production with international partners. Specifically, this includes projects with Denmark, countries of Northern and Western Europe — Germany, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, and others.
Zelenskyy emphasized that only the strong, combined potential of Europe, in alliance with the United States, can serve as a reliable defense against Russian aggression. He also announced an active week of Ukrainian diplomacy during the UN General Assembly.
