The blackout, caused by Russia’s targeted strike on the substation, powering the Chornobyl Nuclear Power Plant, is nuclear terrorism on Russia's part. We've grown accustomed to it by now.

This was stated on KYIV24 by Yaroslav Yemelyanenko, a member of the public council of the State Agency for Exclusion Zone Management at ChNPP.

He says Russia keeps trying to breach defenses, eroding the security of Ukraine's nuclear sites. And the systems operating at the plant were designed for peacetime conditions.

"Thanks to the professionalism of ChNPP staff, negative consequences were averted this time," he said.
