The Air Force is unable to immediately secure the entire Ukrainian airspace. The issue lies in the fact that training specialists takes months.

This was stated by Yurii Fedorenko, Commander of the 429th Separate Unmanned Systems Regiment “Achilles,” during a broadcast on Kyiv24.

“Is it feasible for the Air Force to secure Ukraine’s entire airspace in the short term? It’s absolutely clear that this is an extremely complex task,” Fedorenko stressed.

As the military officer explained, training pilots and operators for effective air defense takes about three months, making it highly challenging for the Air Force alone to quickly secure the entire Ukrainian airspace.

“Various security agencies are currently taking on "pieces" of Ukraine’s sky, covering them to give the Air Force time to build momentum,” he noted.

Additionally, territorial communities are contributing by purchasing interceptor drones, equipment, and training, as the state budget is currently insufficient to fully equip interception systems.
