How many ballistic missiles Russia can launch monthly: Intelligence reveals the number

Ukraine’s Defence Intelligence has assessed Russia’s missile attack capabilities.

The aggressor state, Russia, is capable of launching up to 100 ballistic missiles per month in attacks on Ukraine, while maintaining a steady stockpile.

This was stated in a response by the Defence Intelligence to a request from Ukrainska Pravda.

According to Ukrainian intelligence, in 2026, Russia’s military industry plans to deliver up to 700 9M723 ballistic missiles for the Iskander-M tactical missile system — the same amount as last year. The monthly production rate for these weapons remains at 55–60 units.

The Russian army has more than doubled its production of RM-48U strike missiles for S-300PM/S-400 air defense systems, which the invaders use to hit ground targets.

Over the course of this year, production of more than 480 such missiles is planned, whereas in 2025, this figure stood at just over 200 units. Currently, their monthly production rate is up to 50 missiles.

Additionally, the aggressor country plans to deliver up to 60 Kinzhal hypersonic aero-ballistic missiles.

"Given these production rates of ballistic missiles, the enemy can use up to 100 such missiles each month to strike targets across Ukraine, while maintaining a steady stockpile," the Defence Intelligence stressed.
